Antennas & Cabling

In order to receive Over The Air Digital TV, an antenna is neccessary.

The type of antenna you need depends on your location.

If you live close to the broadcast antennas, an indoor, rabbit ears-style antenna may suffice.

In most cases, an attic-mounted or outdoor antenna will be needed to consistently receive your local broadcast stations.

We do recommend that all antenna cabling be RG-6, preferably quad-shield.

300-Ohm flat cable and RG-59 are much more prone to signal ingress (unwanted R/F noise coming into the cable) and lose a greater amount of the signal per foot than RG-6.
